JAKARTA, July 14 (Xinhua) -- The Executive Board of the Indonesian Golf Association (PB PGI) is aiming for Indonesia's contingent to emerge as champions at the 2025 International Amateur Golf Championship, which begins on Tuesday in Jakarta, PB PGI Secretary General Suharsono said on Monday.
A total of 106 participants from 12 countries and regions are expected to compete in the event at Pondok Indah Golf Course from July 15 to 17.
Suharsono said the championship plays a vital role in the development of national amateur golf. "This tournament is an important platform for athlete development and selection," Suharsono noted.
"We hope to win another championship and produce athletes who are ready to compete at the professional level," he added. ■
